The best humanoid robots right now, ranked by tracker data
The short version

The best humanoid you can actually own is the Unitree G1 at $13,500, or the R1 from $4,900 if the budget matters more than the spec sheet. The famous ones (Optimus, Figure 03) have no price and no checkout, so they cannot top a list about buying.

Most "best humanoid robot" lists rank the robots nobody can buy above the ones you can, because the unbuyable ones make better videos. This one does the opposite. I have not touched any of these machines, so I am not going to pretend to score how they "feel." I am ranking on the three things I can actually verify: can you buy it, what does it really cost, and does the maker describe what it does or what it might someday do. By that standard the winner is a $13,500 research platform you can put in a cart, and the famous robots do not place at all.

The ranking method (read this or the order looks wrong)

No hands-on. No demo footage taken at face value. Each robot is scored on:

  • Buyable: can a normal person complete a purchase today?
  • Price: a number the maker actually publishes, not an analyst guess.
  • Autonomy claims: does it do what the marketing implies, or is there a human in the loop / no autonomy at all?
  • What you actually get.

A robot you cannot buy cannot be the "best" robot to own, no matter how good its reel is. That single rule reorders the whole category.

The ranking

Ranks 4 and 5 are where the rule above starts biting. Both are real machines with real published prices, and neither will let you complete a purchase: Booster's Buy Now opens an inquiry form, and the H2 page has no cart at all, only a sales address. That is exactly why they sit below three robots you can pay for today, one of which is more than twice the price of the K1.

Above that sit the Unitree H1 ($90,000) and H2 Plus ($100,000), both sold through Unitree's sales team rather than a cart, both research-lab machines rather than anything a consumer should rank as "best."

Why the G1 is #1 and the R1 is #2

The G1 tops it because it is the most capable machine a person can actually own, you can order it today (currently backordered), and its maker is refreshingly plain about it being a research platform: the store page says outright that "this product does not support secondary development." It even got cheaper: about $16,000 at its May 2024 launch, priced in the title of Unitree's own announcement film below, and $13,500 now.

The R1 sits just below on pure value. It broke the sub-$5,000 barrier for a walking biped, and for most buyers it is the smarter first purchase: the same you-program-it reality for a third of the money. Neither robot is autonomous out of the box. Both makers say so.

Why NEO ranks below two developer platforms

NEO is the only humanoid on this list marketed as a home robot, and it is the one I would tell you to be most careful with. At $20,000 it costs more than the G1 and R1 combined, it is preorder-only with no customer delivery I can confirm, and for anything it has not learned, 1X's own order page says an "Expert" can "remotely supervise its actions." A remote human sometimes drives it. That is a real privacy trade, covered in the NEO preorder explainer.

None of that makes NEO a bad product. It is just not, by my method, a better robot to own right now than a machine that ships and does exactly what it says.

The "most advanced humanoid robot" question

The search term and the purchase point at different robots. People searching "most advanced humanoid robot" usually mean Figure or Optimus, and in a demo those may well be the most capable machines in the world. But:

So "most advanced" and "best to own" are different questions. The most advanced humanoids are the ones you cannot buy; the best humanoid you can actually own is a Unitree. That gap is the category in 2026.

The Unitree G1 at $13,500 if you want the best humanoid you can own, the R1 from $4,900 if the extra $8,600 of capability is not worth it to you, and nothing at any price if what you want is the most advanced humanoid in the world.
