The Unitree G1 Walmart listing, and where to actually buy one

The Unitree G1 Walmart listing, and where to actually buy one
The short version

The $21,600 Walmart G1 was one marketplace seller's listing in October 2025 and it is gone; as of 2026-08-07 the real choices are Unitree direct at $13,500 plus shipping and customs with no warranty stated, or a US dealer at $17,900 to $17,990 where the written warranty runs 8 months.

Walmart really did list a Unitree G1. The page read "Unitree G1 Basic," $21,600.00, free shipping, and it was live on 2025-10-07. Three days later, Robotics & Automation News went to check and got "We couldn't find this page."

Walmart was never stocking humanoid robots. A robotics dealer in Newtown, Pennsylvania, was using Walmart's marketplace the way anyone sells a phone case there, and the dealer pulled the listing almost immediately.

As of 2026-08-07, five US channels list a G1 and Walmart is not one of them. Unitree's own store is the cheapest at $13,500, backordered. Every US dealer sits at $17,900 to $17,990. The robot is the same in all five. What changes between them is the paperwork, and the paperwork is worth about $4,400.

What the Walmart listing said, from the archived page

Most of the coverage in October 2025 was written off screenshots, and one outlet asked in print whether the whole thing was a PR stunt. The listing itself was real. The Internet Archive caught the page three times on 2025-10-07, add to cart button and delivery date included, and those captures hold every field it displayed.

Field on the page What it said
Price $21,600.00, "Price when purchased online"
Shipping "Free shipping", "Arrives by Tue, Oct 14" (captured Oct 7)
Seller "Sold by Futurology", rated 5.0 on one seller review
Fulfillment marketplace, not Walmart
Order limit 6 per order
Returns "Free Holiday returns until Jan 31"
Warranty, in the spec block "Warranty: 8 months"
Warranty, in Walmart's own product field empty
Pickup and local delivery "Not available"
Category breadcrumb Toys, then Toys for All

That last row is my favorite thing about this entire episode. A 35 kg bipedal research platform, $21,600, filed under Toys, with "Collectible" listed among its features in the at-a-glance box. The spec block underneath was copied straight from Unitree's own datasheet, ending on the two lines that matter most to a buyer: "Secondary development: no" and "Warranty: 8 months."

The seller was Futurology LLC, whose Walmart storefront describes the company as "an international integrator and distributor of cutting-edge robotics, solar, and IT products." One review. Five stars. Six-robot purchase limit, which is a stock control setting, not a flex.

The South China Morning Post reported on 2025-10-10 that a Go2 quadruped from the same seller was up at $2,399 alongside it, and that both listings had been removed. The search links outlived the pages, which is why people still type "unitree g1 walmart" into Google and land nowhere.

Where the $21,600 came from

The number that made the story travel was the gap: $21,600 on Walmart against a robot that costs $13,500 from the factory. A 60 percent premium reads like marketplace opportunism, and it is the ordinary list price of the entire US dealer channel.

RoboStore shows the G1 at $17,990.00, marked down from $21,600.00. Futurology's own site shows the G1 Basic at $17,990.00, marked down from $21,600.00. Walmart got the sticker price; the dealers sell off it.

So the real dealer premium over the factory is around $4,400, and I have never once seen a US seller of a Unitree humanoid discount below that band. Nothing in this channel goes on sale in the way a TV does. If you find a G1 well under $17,000 from a US storefront, treat the price as the warning.

Where a G1 actually sells today

Every figure below came off the seller's own page.

Channel G1 price Stock Warranty stated The catch
shop.unitree.com (the maker) $13,500.00 Backordered none on the page Shipping $300 to $1,200, and you pay all customs duties, taxes and import clearance
Amazon, seller UnitreeRobotics $17,990 listed not visible to an automated check $4,490 over the same company's own website
RoboStore $17,990.00 (was $21,600) Sold out, notify me 8 months You are waiting either way
US Robot Store $17,900.00 (was $20,900) add to cart, pickup in Los Angeles 18 months across the G1 EDU line Basic-model term not stated on the page
Futurology $17,990.00 (was $21,600) "Coming soon" 8 months Not orderable the day I looked
Walmart no listing n/a n/a Gone since October 2025

Two caveats on that table, both mine to declare. Amazon's product page would not load for an automated check, so the $17,990 comes from the listing as it appears in search results and from my page-one census of Amazon's humanoid listings on 2026-08-04, where the seller of record was Unitree's own storefront.

The one row in that table I could not read off the page myself, held up by somebody who could, and it dates the Amazon listing five months before my own check.

And walmart.com blocks automated checks outright, so "no listing" means no G1 product page turns up in any index of that domain, while Unitree Go2 quadruped pages still do. I could not open those either, so I am not printing a Walmart Go2 price.

Warranty is the thing the channel decides

The robot is identical across every row. The support behind it varies far more than the price does.

Buy direct and Unitree's product page states no warranty at all. It states that shipping runs $300 to $1,200, that the "Customer is responsible for all applicable customs duties, taxes, and import clearance," and that a contactable phone number and email are required for clearance. There is no described US service network. A fault means dealing with a factory in Hangzhou about a 35 kg machine.

Buy from a dealer and you get 8 months in writing at two of them, an 18 month figure on the EDU line at the third, and a domestic address to ship the crate back to. That is the $4,400. Whether it is worth it depends entirely on how you would feel about a dead knee actuator in month five.

Worth knowing before you pick a lane: the base G1 "does not support secondary development. For customization needs, please select the EDU edition," which is quote-only through sales_global@unitree.cc. The cheap G1 is a robot you operate, not one you program. If programming is the point, you are shopping the EDU tier and a different budget.

The "official distributor" label is self-declared

RoboStore's page says "The Official US Distributor of Unitree" and adds "don't take any chances with scams or third-parties." US Robot Store, operated by Easy Made Products, LLC in Los Angeles, also says official US distributor. Futurology's page title says authorized US dealer. I have nothing against any of the three, and their prices line up with each other and with Unitree's own Amazon storefront, which is what a genuine distribution agreement looks like from outside.

What does not exist is a maker-side list to check them against. Unitree publishes no directory of authorized dealers. So read the label as marketing and let the written warranty, the return policy and the stated business address carry the weight instead. Futurology gives an address in Newtown, Pennsylvania. US Robot Store gives one in Los Angeles and offers local pickup. Those are checkable facts; "official" is not.

If the Walmart listing comes back

It might. Nothing stops the seller from relisting, and a marketplace page changes three real things. The listing carries Walmart's return terms, and that one showed free returns through January 31. The seller's rating sits in public, under the buy box, where a dealer's own site would never put it. And the price on it was the $21,600 list, which is $3,610 above what that same seller asks on its own site today. Buying a humanoid robot in the same cart as paper towels is a convenience with a number attached.

For the whole map of who sells walking humanoids in the US, including the 1X NEO deposit, see where to buy a humanoid robot. For how the G1's own sticker moved from $16,000 to $13,500, see the G1 price history. Live stock and price sit on the G1 tracker page, and if $13,500 is more robot than your budget, the same maker's R1 starts at $4,900.

Before you pay any of the three US dealers, get the Basic model's warranty term written into your order confirmation. Two of them post 8 months on the product page, the third posts 18 months against the EDU line and says nothing about Basic, and a spec block copied off Unitree's datasheet is not a commitment from the company charging your card.
